If you want to see all that comes in the March Project Life kit I made a quick video. I apologize for the glare, I was working quickly and didn't worry too much about set up. I say two things in the video that I will repeat here.
1. I am annoyed at how long it took to get my kit. It wouldn't bother me so much if buying more from Studio Calico (add ons, from the shop) didn't get your stuff to you faster. I'm subscribing, I shouldn't have to pay more to get my kit earlier. And I just ordered some larger items from Two Peas last week. Shipping was about the same, both use USPS, but I got my Two Peas order today (ordered Saturday night) and my Studio Calico kit yesterday. That's kind of lame in my opinion. I am happy with the kit, lots of good stuff this time, but it's seriously making me consider if I will continue my subscription after 6 months.
2. People that make quote cards and don't cite the quote- STOP IT!!! If you use a quote from a song, book, poem, or movie you need to put who wrote it after the quote. Give credit to the artists that you are borrowing from! I don't care if we all know Shakespeare (just an example) said it. Put his name on it!!!! This month has a quote from Perks of Being a Wallflower, a book that had a movie recently come out, and there is no mention of Stephen Chbosky. Those are his (beautiful) words!! Give him credit!!
Ok end rant. Here's the video!
I am 100% with you about quote attribution. I think that if it's a product for sale and you use a book quote that's short, it's fair use only IF you attribute the quote. When I make cards with quotes (as I did a bit recently) I made certain to quote the person who spoke or wrote the words. It *is* important.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the kit. If I had the pennies, I'd be getting the kits (also - if I could get on the list). Very nice to see all the details!
